Real words from real adventurers — hear what past guests say about their experience with Cooee Tours.
"Absolutely incredible! The Blue Mountains canyoning trip was beyond my expectations. Our guide Jake made us feel safe while pushing our limits. The waterfall abseil was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. Best day of my life!"
"Skydiving over Byron Bay ticked off the ultimate bucket list item. The instructors were calming and professional all the way through. The coastal views during the parachute descent were breathtaking. Already booked my next jump!"
"The Great Ocean Road surf camp was genuinely life-changing. I went in a complete beginner and caught my first real wave by day two. The coaches were patient and encouraging — campfire nights under the stars were the perfect bonus!"
"The Tasmania Overland Track with Cooee was challenging but completely worth every sore muscle. Guides knew the ecology inside-out and kept morale high through the tough sections. The alpine landscapes left us speechless. Highly recommended."
"White water rafting was pure controlled chaos — Grade 4 rapids with our hearts pounding the whole way. The teamwork required was awesome, the guide's energy was infectious, and we laughed the entire time even completely soaked!"
"The Great Barrier Reef liveaboard was a dream come true. Eleven dives over three days, manta rays, reef sharks and sea turtles everywhere. The dive instructors were excellent and the boat crew made us feel like family. Unforgettable."
Everything you need to know before booking your Australian adventure.
Fitness requirements vary by activity. Day adventures typically require moderate fitness — comfortable walking 5–8 km and being active for 4–6 hours. Multi-day expeditions require good general fitness and endurance. Each activity listing states specific requirements. If you're unsure, contact us — we'll recommend activities matched to your current level. Many of our adventures offer multiple intensity options within the same experience.
No prior experience is needed for most adventures. Our expert guides provide comprehensive safety briefings and full skill instruction before and throughout every activity. Adventures clearly marked "beginner-friendly" require zero experience. Intermediate and advanced options are available for seasoned adventurers looking for added challenge. We assess your group's skill level on the day and calibrate accordingly.
Safety always comes first. If conditions make an activity unsafe, we'll reschedule at no charge or offer a suitable alternative experience. We monitor live weather forecasts closely and communicate any changes well in advance. Most adventures proceed safely in light rain — we provide wet weather gear where needed. You can also choose to reschedule if you're not comfortable with forecast conditions.
Many activities are excellent for families. Age requirements vary by activity type and safety regulations. General guidelines: hiking and camping (ages 8+), kayaking (10+), rock climbing (12+), white water rafting (14+), skydiving (16+ with parental consent). We offer dedicated family adventure packages with age-appropriate challenges built in. Contact us for recommendations tailored to your family's specific ages and abilities.
All technical safety equipment and expert instruction are always included. Multi-day packages include accommodation, all meals and return city transport as specified in each tour listing. Day adventures include light refreshments. Comprehensive packing lists are sent upon booking confirmation. Travel insurance is not included but is strongly recommended — ensure any policy specifically covers adventure and outdoor sports activities.
Absolutely. Private adventures offer completely flexible scheduling, fully customised itineraries and exclusive guide attention. They're ideal for corporate team building events, birthday groups, school groups, special occasions, or anyone who prefers a more personalised experience. Minimum group sizes and pricing vary by activity. Private bookings can combine multiple activities into a bespoke program. Contact us at least 2–3 weeks ahead for best availability.
Book as early as possible, especially for peak periods (December–February, Easter and all school holidays). Popular experiences like skydiving and multi-day treks book out months in advance. Minimum recommended lead times: day trips (1 week), weekend packages (2–3 weeks), multi-day expeditions (4–6 weeks). Last-minute weekday bookings are occasionally available. Early booking guarantees your preferred dates and allows time to prepare physically.
Cancellations 7+ days before departure receive a full refund minus a $50 administration fee. Cancellations 3–6 days before receive a 50% refund. Less than 3 days notice generally receives no refund except in documented extenuating circumstances. Operator cancellations due to unsafe weather receive a full refund or free reschedule. Travel insurance covering trip cancellation is strongly recommended. Full terms are provided on each tour's booking page.
Environmental responsibility is core to everything we do. We follow Leave No Trace principles on all tours, operate exclusively in small groups to minimise ecosystem impact, actively support conservation projects and educate guests about protecting Australia's unique natural environments. We partner with national parks, Traditional Custodians and conservation organisations. We believe responsible adventure tourism is one of the most powerful tools for inspiring people to protect wild places.
We are committed to making adventure accessible for everyone. Several of our experiences can be adapted for guests with physical disabilities or medical conditions. We ask that you contact us before booking so we can discuss your specific requirements, assess what modifications are possible and ensure your safety and enjoyment throughout. Disclosure of relevant medical conditions prior to booking is required for all participants.
