The small cost of insurance is minimal compared to the potential financial devastation of an uncovered emergency.

What is covered under medical expenses?

Our medical coverage includes hospital stays, surgery, doctor visits, prescription medications, ambulance services, emergency dental treatment, and medical evacuation if necessary. This covers both sudden illnesses and accidents that occur during your trip. Pre-existing medical conditions may be covered with appropriate disclosure and additional premium. Mental health emergencies and COVID-19 related medical treatment are also included in our comprehensive plans. Coverage extends from the moment you leave home until you return, including any stopovers or connecting cities.

When should I purchase travel insurance?

Ideally, purchase travel insurance as soon as you book your trip. Many benefits, particularly trip cancellation coverage, only apply if you purchase insurance shortly after making your initial trip deposit (typically within 14-21 days). Early purchase also ensures you're covered if something unexpected happens between booking and departure. However, you can purchase insurance up until the day before departure, though some benefits may be limited. For the most comprehensive protection and best value, we recommend purchasing when you book your flights or accommodation.

Are pre-existing medical conditions covered?

Pre-existing conditions can be covered, but require full disclosure during the application process. You must declare all medical conditions, medications, and treatments from the past 12 months. Our underwriters will assess your situation and may offer coverage with or without additional premium. Some stable, well-managed conditions may be covered at no extra cost. Failure to disclose pre-existing conditions can result in claim denial. We recommend being completely honest about your medical history – it's always better to have coverage in place if you need it.

What reasons allow me to cancel my trip?

Covered cancellation reasons typically include: serious illness or injury to you, a traveling companion, or immediate family member; death of a family member; natural disasters at your destination; government-issued travel advisories; jury duty; military deployment; home becoming uninhabitable due to fire, flood, or other covered event; and employment termination (if employed for over 1 year). Our Premium plan includes "Cancel For Any Reason" coverage, allowing you to cancel for any reason not otherwise covered and receive 75% reimbursement of prepaid expenses (must be purchased within 14 days of initial deposit).

Does travel insurance cover COVID-19?

Yes, our Comprehensive and Premium plans include COVID-19 coverage. This includes medical expenses if you contract COVID-19 while traveling, trip cancellation if you test positive before departure, trip interruption if you must quarantine abroad, and additional accommodation costs if quarantine is required. Emergency medical evacuation due to COVID-19 is also covered. However, coverage only applies if government travel restrictions aren't in place for your destination. If you're traveling to an area with a government "Do Not Travel" advisory, coverage is void. Always check current advisories before booking.

What adventure activities are covered?

Our Comprehensive and Premium plans automatically cover popular adventure activities including skiing, snowboarding, scuba diving (to 30 meters with certification), snorkeling, parasailing, zip-lining, hot air ballooning, safari tours, bungee jumping, white water rafting (up to grade 4), trekking to 4,000 meters, and many more activities. Extreme sports like base jumping, mountain climbing above 4,000m, professional sports participation, and motorsports require additional coverage. Equipment rental coverage is included for snow sports and diving equipment. Always check your policy schedule for the complete list of covered activities.

How does baggage coverage work?

Baggage coverage reimburses you for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings during your trip. Coverage limits vary by plan ($2,500-$20,000). Single item limits typically apply (e.g., $750 per item). You must report theft to local police within 24 hours and obtain a police report. For airline-lost luggage, file a report with the airline immediately and keep your claim reference. If bags are delayed more than 12 hours, you can purchase essential items (up to the policy limit) and submit receipts for reimbursement. Original receipts are preferred but not always required for items under $100. Keep all receipts and documentation organized.

Can I extend my policy if my trip runs longer?

Yes, policies can be extended if your trip is delayed or you decide to stay longer. Extension requests must be made before your current policy expires and you must still be in good health. You cannot extend coverage if you've already filed a claim or if you're seeking medical treatment. Extensions are subject to approval and additional premium based on your extended travel dates. Contact our team at least 48 hours before your policy expiration to arrange an extension. Some policies have maximum trip duration limits (typically 12 months) that cannot be exceeded.

What documentation do I need to make a claim?

Required documentation varies by claim type. For medical claims: medical reports, itemized receipts, prescription receipts, and proof of payment. For cancellation claims: booking confirmations, receipts, cancellation invoices, and medical certificates or death certificates (if applicable). For baggage claims: police reports (for theft), airline baggage reports (for lost luggage), repair estimates or replacement receipts, and original purchase receipts if available. For all claims: completed claim form, proof of travel insurance purchase, passport copies, and travel itinerary. Keep copies of everything you submit. The more documentation you provide, the faster your claim will be processed.
