The civics curriculum points students towards Parliament House, the Australian War Memorial and the national institutions, and they all sit within a few kilometres of one another in the Parliamentary Triangle.
The Government’s PACER rebate is built for exactly this trip: the contribution towards travel rises with the distance a school travels, so interstate and regional groups benefit most. PACER is the Australian Government Parliament and Civics Education Rebate. It contributes towards the travel cost for eligible students visiting the national capital, and the amount rises with the distance travelled, so it especially benefits interstate and regional schools. Your school applies directly; we plan the itinerary to fit the requirements.
Most interstate excursions run three to five days on the ground in Canberra, with travel days added for overland groups. We build the run sheet around your year level, curriculum focus and the institution sessions you have booked.
