The 2026 Festival

A Million Blooms, Beautifully Timed

Every spring, Commonwealth Park turns 4.2 hectares of lakeside lawn into a living canvas of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and pansies — laid out in large-scale designs you really only appreciate on foot, with someone who knows where to stand. Floriade 2026 runs from Saturday 12 September to Sunday 11 October under the theme Feast of Flowers, with garden beds drawing their colour from seasonal produce.

Our guided day is built to skip the logistics and keep the good bits: a morning walk through the beds before the crowds build, Stage 88 performances, the market stalls (Canberra District wine among them), and a lakeside lunch. Daytime festival entry is free — you're paying us for the transfer, the guide, the timing and the trimmings, not the gate.

Is there an entry fee?
No — daytime entry to the main Floriade display is free. NightFest (1–4 October) is a separate ticketed evening event. Our tour price covers your transfer, guide, lunch and the day's arrangements.
When is the best time to see the flowers?
The first two weeks of October typically show the most complete colour, with late-season tulips and spring annuals open together. Mornings and weekdays are the quietest. We'll steer your day accordingly.
What is NightFest?
From Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 October 2026 the park reopens after dark (6:30pm–10:30pm) with illuminated gardens, live music and food. It's ticketed and sells out early — ask us to build it into your visit.
Is the tour accessible?
Commonwealth Park has sealed and grassed paths and is largely flat. Let us know any mobility needs when booking and our local operator will confirm suitable arrangements in writing.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome at Floriade only on Dogs' Day Out — the festival's final day, Sunday 11 October 2026. Outside that day, assistance animals only. Ask us about the Dogs' Day Out option.
