A spring institution
The Carnival of Flowers has been celebrated in Toowoomba since 1950, making it one of the country's longest-running floral festivals. Each September the city's parks, private gardens and streetscapes burst into bloom and the calendar fills with events.
What's on
- Garden displays — Queens Park and a program of award-winning private gardens open to the public.
- Grand Central Floral Parade — the festival's centrepiece procession through the city.
- Food, wine and music — pop-up events across the festival period.
Planning your visit
The festival runs across September and draws large crowds, so book accommodation and tours early. Days on the range can be cool and changeable in early spring, so bring layers.
