Toowoomba is a city of about 140,000 people sitting roughly 700 metres up the Great Dividing Range, two hours west of Brisbane. It is best known for the Carnival of Flowers each September, but the Garden City is a year-round destination: Queensland's flagship cool-climate wine region is ninety minutes south, four championship golf courses sit within forty minutes, and the Darling Downs produce country begins where the escarpment ends.

If you have never been to Toowoomba and you are travelling in the festival window, start with the Brisbane Carnival day tour. It answers the only question that matters — is this your kind of event — for $89, and the Carnival does a better job of selling the region than we can.
If you have done the Carnival before, the interesting tours are the ones that show you the Downs rather than the gardens: the Granite Belt wine day, the food trail, or a weekend that reaches Spring Bluff and the villages. If you are bringing a group, ask about a charter before you book individual seats — on a group of twenty the arithmetic usually favours the private coach, and the itinerary becomes yours.
And if mobility is a consideration, say so when you book rather than hoping for the best. Seating near the door, extra time at each stop and the smoothest routes through the gardens are all things we can arrange in advance and cannot improvise on the morning.

Where do your Toowoomba tours depart from?
It depends on the tour. The Carnival of Flowers day tours have their own city departures — Brisbane CBD and Chermside, Helensvale on the Gold Coast, and Maroochydore and Caboolture on the Sunshine Coast. Wine, golf and food tours depart Toowoomba itself or your accommodation. Exact pickup points are confirmed with your booking.
Which tour suits a first-time visitor?
If you are coming in September or early October, the Brisbane Carnival of Flowers day tour at $89 is the best-value introduction to the city. Outside the festival window, the wine tours and the food trail show you the Darling Downs rather than just the gardens.
Do you run tours outside the Carnival of Flowers?
Yes. The Carnival is the busiest period by a distance, but wine, golf, food and seniors touring run through the year, and the region arguably shows better in autumn and winter than the crowds suggest.
Can we book a private or group charter?
Yes. Garden clubs, Probus groups, corporate groups and family occasions can charter a coach on their own date with an itinerary built around them. Call 0409 661 342 to talk it through.
Are the tours suitable for seniors?
Most are, and one is designed specifically for it. Coaches have low-step entry, the pace allows real time at each stop rather than drive-by glimpses, and we can arrange seating near the door. Tell us about mobility needs when you book.
What are your cancellation terms?
100% refund 30 or more days out, 50% at 14 to 29 days, and non-refundable within 14 days, with free name transfers given 7 days notice. Full detail is in our booking conditions.
How far is Toowoomba from Brisbane?
About 125km via the Warrego Highway, which is roughly two hours by coach including the climb up the Range. It is a comfortable day trip and a very easy weekend.
When should I book?
Earlier than you think for anything in the Carnival window — parade-weekend departures routinely sell out weeks ahead. Outside September, a fortnight is usually comfortable.
