What's included in the from-$595 price?
Return coach travel from Brisbane, your local driver-guide throughout, one night's central Toowoomba accommodation, and the full two-day touring itinerary. Meals are yours to choose — half the point of an overnight is Toowoomba's dining — and optional ticketed events can be added at booking.
Why does the price say 'from'?
Because you choose the accommodation tier and any optional extras at booking — from motel-comfortable to boutique-special, garden weekend to festival-event weekend. The exact price is confirmed with you before any payment.
When does the weekend run?
Year-round, departing Brisbane early Saturday and returning Sunday night. Spring departures align with the Carnival of Flowers (18 September – 5 October 2026) and jacaranda season, and sell out first.
Is this the best way to do the Carnival of Flowers?
If you want the festival at a human pace — evening city, dawn gardens, Spring Bluff without the rush — yes. Day tours cover the highlights; the weekend covers the festival. Carnival-weekend allocations are limited, so book months ahead.
Where do we stay?
Central Toowoomba, walking distance to the CBD dining belt and the parks. Tier options are presented at booking; twin-share standard, single supplements available.
What about meals?
Deliberately yours: Toowoomba's cafes, pubs and restaurants are a genuine highlight and your guide knows them all — from the hatted table to the best pie on the Downs. Morning tea stops are part of the touring.
How much walking is involved?
Comfortable amounts, on mostly sealed paths, with the coach never far. The pace suits seniors well — this is one of our most-loved itineraries for exactly that reason. Tell us about mobility needs and we'll plan around them.
Can a garden club or social group take the whole weekend?
Yes — private charters run this itinerary (or your variation of it) with your own coach, dates and pickup point. Call 0409 661 342 for a tailored quote.
What should I pack?
Layers above all — Toowoomba runs 3–5°C cooler than Brisbane and the evenings up at 700 metres are genuinely crisp outside summer. Walking shoes, camera, and space for farm-gate finds; the luggage bay covers the rest.
What time do we get back to Brisbane on Sunday?
Early evening — the Lockyer Valley farm-gate pause and Sunday traffic set the fine print, but you're home in time to unpack the luggage-bay vegetables at a civilised hour.
Can I extend to two nights?
That's precisely the 3-Day Long Weekend — Friday-evening departure, two nights at the same base, and a full Downs day added. From $880pp, and its Carnival dates are the first thing we sell out each year.
Do you run the weekend in jacaranda season?
Yes, and it's a local-secret favourite — late October and November turn the older streets lilac-purple after the Carnival crowds have gone home. Same itinerary shape, different colour scheme, easier bookings.
Do I need festival tickets on Carnival-season weekends?
Mostly no — the headline gardens and parade are free. Ticketed extras (FEASTival sessions, some evening events) can be added at booking once your dates are set, and your guide will flag what's worth it for your weekend.
