UAE Golf Tours — Dubai & Abu Dhabi at the Crossroads

Six championship courses, the Arabian Gulf, and accommodation that ranges from world-luxury to genuinely iconic. The Middle East's most refined golf programme — built for travellers who already know what premium feels like.

6 Championship Courses 2 Emirates & Northern Extension From AUD $9,995pp Oct–Apr Prime Season
The UAE Programme

Premium luxury at the crossroads of three continents

The UAE sits in our World premium-luxury tier alongside Japan and the upper Scotland and USA packages. It is the only programme in our portfolio where genuine seven-star accommodation is on the table — Burj Al Arab and Emirates Palace are real options, not aspirations. The golf is championship-grade across both emirates: Dubai's three flagship courses host the DP World Tour Hero Dubai Desert Classic and the season-ending DP World Tour Championship; Abu Dhabi's coastal trio includes the Middle East's only true seaside links and the multi-time HSBC Abu Dhabi Championship venue.

What separates the UAE from Bali's half-pace cultural integration and Thailand's value-luxury proposition is execution. The infrastructure is world-class. The transfers are private. The clubhouses operate to a standard you will recognise from Pebble Beach or Loch Lomond. The challenge is heat management — which is why we run this programme October to April only, and why our prime window is November to March. Inside that window, daytime temperatures sit between 22°C and 28°C with reliable sunshine and humidity below 60%. It is the most consistently playable golf weather of any World destination we offer.

Why the UAE

The premium-luxury case for Dubai & Abu Dhabi

Five reasons the UAE earns its place in our World tier — and why it suits travellers who want golf, but not only golf.

01

Tour-grade venues

Three of our six courses host or have hosted European Tour / DP World Tour events: Emirates GC Majlis (Hero Dubai Desert Classic), Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth (DP World Tour Championship), and Abu Dhabi GC National (HSBC Championship). You play the same fairways the world's top fifty have walked.

02

True seaside links

Yas Links Abu Dhabi is the only authentic links course in the Middle East — Kyle Phillips routed it directly along the Arabian Gulf with native fescue, real dunes, and the prevailing onshore wind that defines links golf. It is ranked among Asia's top-five courses for a reason.

03

Accommodation without compromise

Standard programmes use Mandarin Oriental Jumeirah, Atlantis The Palm, Park Hyatt Dubai and St. Regis Saadiyat Island. Upgrades to Burj Al Arab and Emirates Palace are available — and they are not symbolic. They are the real thing, with the service standard that justifies the rate.

04

Climate that actually works

October to April delivers 22–28°C daytime, low humidity, 8+ hours of reliable sunshine, and rain measured in single-digit days per year. November to March is the absolute sweet spot. Summer is genuinely unplayable — which is why we don't run programmes May to September.

05

Non-golf depth

This is one of our strongest non-golfer destinations. Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, the souks, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Cultural District, desert dune dinners, dhow cruises, and full-day spa programmes at Emirates Palace and Mandarin Oriental. Couples-priced packages assume one golfer plus one non-golfer.

06

Visa-free entry

Australian passport holders receive a free 30-day visa on arrival. No advance application, no fees, no paperwork. Passport must be valid for six months from entry. Extensions to 60 days available in-country if you want longer.

The Six Courses

Three sub-regions, six championship venues

Dubai City for the marquee tour venues. Abu Dhabi Coast for the links and the championship championship-host trio. Northern Emirates as an optional extension when you want one more day at a different pace.

Sub-region 01

Dubai City

Three flagship venues within 30 minutes of Downtown Dubai. The marquee programme — tour-grade courses, iconic clubhouses, the skyline as a backdrop on every back-nine.

Emirates Golf Club Majlis Course 18th hole Dubai with the iconic tented clubhouse behind the green DP World Tour

Emirates Golf Club — Majlis Course

Karl Litten · 1988 · Dubai

The first grass course in the Middle East and the cornerstone of UAE golf. Host of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic since 1989 — Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Seve Ballesteros, and every major champion of the last forty years has walked these fairways. The Bedouin-tent clubhouse is one of golf's most recognisable buildings. The 18th, with the Burj Khalifa now visible behind the green, is the iconic UAE golf photograph.

Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club with the iconic dhow-sail clubhouse architecture beside Dubai Creek Heritage

Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club

Karl Litten · 1993 · Deira, Dubai

Parkland golf beside the historic Creek where Dubai began as a pearl-diving and trading port. The clubhouse — designed to evoke the sails of a traditional dhow — is one of the most photographed buildings in the city. The course itself is shorter and more strategic than the Majlis: water on 12 holes, mature landscaping, and the unique experience of teeing off with abras and yachts moving past on the Creek itself. Often the second course in a Dubai programme.

Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course final hole during the DP World Tour Championship Dubai Tour Championship

Jumeirah Golf Estates — Earth Course

Greg Norman · 2009 · New Dubai

The season-ending DP World Tour Championship venue and the course on which the European Tour's Race to Dubai is decided every November. Greg Norman built it as a strategic test in the European parkland tradition — wide fairways, defended greens, deep bunkering, and an 18th that finishes with water short and right of a peninsula green. The most watchable finishing hole in Middle East golf and a genuine bucket-list round.

Abu Dhabi Coast

Three coastal courses across Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, and the Abu Dhabi mainland. The links course, the beachfront course, and the championship-host parkland — Abu Dhabi's golf is more varied than Dubai's.

Yas Links Abu Dhabi seaside links course Kyle Phillips design with native fescue and Arabian Gulf True Links

Yas Links Abu Dhabi

Kyle Phillips · 2010 · Yas Island

The Middle East's only authentic seaside links — and on the world's links short-list alongside Kingsbarns (also Kyle Phillips). Routed directly along the Arabian Gulf with native fescue, real dunes, and the prevailing onshore wind that makes a links course a links course. Currently ranked among Asia's top five by every credible ranking. The 17th — short par-3 with the Gulf left and behind the green — is one of the great photographs in regional golf.

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club Gary Player design beachfront fairway with Arabian Gulf and resident gazelle herd Beachfront

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club

Gary Player · 2010 · Saadiyat Island

The only beachfront course in the Middle East — fairways that genuinely run alongside the Arabian Gulf with the beach in play on three holes. Gary Player routed it through the natural saltwater dune system on Saadiyat Island and the resident gazelle herd grazes the rough most mornings. Pairs naturally with the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Saadiyat Cultural District for a non-golfer day. The clubhouse and St. Regis Saadiyat are a 90-second walk apart.

Abu Dhabi Golf Club National Course host of the HSBC Abu Dhabi Championship with falcon-shaped clubhouse HSBC Championship

Abu Dhabi Golf Club — National Course

Peter Harradine · 2000 · Khalifa City

Multi-time host of the HSBC Abu Dhabi Championship and the venue where Tiger Woods recorded his only DP World Tour win on Middle Eastern soil. The falcon-shaped clubhouse — wings outstretched over the 18th green — is one of regional golf's signature buildings. Harradine's routing is a desert parkland test: tight tree-lined fairways through native vegetation, water on 11 holes, and championship-grade conditioning year-round. The third course in a typical Abu Dhabi rotation.

Northern Emirates Extension

Ras al Khaimah — 90 minutes north of Dubai — runs at half Dubai's pace. One course, one resort, and a different rhythm. Recommended as a 2-night add-on for travellers who want the full UAE picture without rushing.

Al Hamra Golf Club Ras al Khaimah Peter Harradine design with lagoon water features and Hajar Mountains backdrop Northern Emirates

Al Hamra Golf Club

Peter Harradine · 2007 · Ras al Khaimah

An 18-hole championship course built around four interconnected saltwater lagoons with the Hajar Mountains in the distance and the Arabian Gulf on the western boundary. Quieter than anything in Dubai or Abu Dhabi — Ras al Khaimah operates at a different pace and the course is rarely more than half full. Pairs with Waldorf Astoria Ras al Khaimah or Ritz-Carlton Al Hamra Beach for a 2-night decompression at the end of the programme. We recommend it; we don't push it.

Practical information

The operational details we wish more agencies put on the page. Visa, climate window, transfers, Ramadan, mosque dress code — answered up front.

Visa & Entry

30-day visa-free for Australians

Australian passport holders receive a free 30-day visa on arrival to the UAE — no advance application, no fees, no paperwork. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.

Single in-country extension to 60 days available if needed. Children on Australian passports receive the same entitlement. New Zealand passport holders receive 90 days visa-free.

Transfers

Dubai ⟷ Abu Dhabi · 90 minutes

Approximately 140km along the E11 Sheikh Zayed Road. We use private chauffeur transfers (Mercedes E-Class or equivalent) and schedule outside Dubai's morning and afternoon peak windows wherever possible.

Standard programme structure: 4–5 nights Dubai, then a single transfer south, then 3–4 nights Abu Dhabi. We don't run back-and-forth day trips between the two emirates.

Ramadan

Golf adjusted, culture amplified

Courses remain open during Ramadan with afternoon and evening tee times only. Hotel restaurants and bars operate normally for non-fasting guests; alcohol is restricted to licensed venues only. Eating, drinking, and smoking in public daytime spaces is not permitted — including on the course before sunset.

The post-iftar evening atmosphere — when the city comes alive after sunset and stays alive until 3am — is a remarkable cultural experience that most travellers find unexpectedly memorable. Ramadan dates shift each year; we will advise based on your travel window.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Dress code: full coverage

The mosque requires full coverage for both men and women. Men: long trousers and short or long sleeves. Women: long trousers or long skirt, long sleeves, and a headscarf.

Abayas and headscarves are loaned free of charge at the entrance for women who arrive without them. The mosque is included as a half-day cultural visit on most UAE programmes — it is the most photographed building in Abu Dhabi for good reason.

Climate calendar — when to play

November through March is the absolute sweet spot. October and April are good shoulder months. We do not run programmes mid-May to mid-September — daytime temperatures regularly exceed 40°C and most courses shift to twilight-only play.

UAE golf — your questions answered

October to April is the prime golf season. Daytime temperatures sit at 22–28°C with low humidity and reliable sunshine. November to March is the absolute sweet spot. May to September is genuinely off-season — daytime temperatures regularly exceed 40°C and most courses shift to twilight-only play. We do not run UAE golf programmes mid-May to mid-September.

Australian passport holders receive a free 30-day visa on arrival to the UAE — no advance application required. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. The visa can be extended once for an additional 30 days from within the country if needed. Children travelling on Australian passports receive the same entitlement.

Golf courses remain open during Ramadan with adjusted tee times — typically afternoon and evening only. Our UAE programme is positioned in the World premium-luxury tier alongside Japan and the upper Scotland and USA packages. Standard accommodation: Mandarin Oriental Jumeirah, Atlantis The Palm, Park Hyatt Dubai, and the St. Regis Saadiyat Island. Upgrade options include Burj Al Arab and Emirates Palace. Pricing reflects this — UAE programmes start at AUD $9,995 and upgrade through to AUD $24,995 for the full Burj Al Arab / Emirates Palace specification.

Dubai to Abu Dhabi is approximately 140km along the E11 Sheikh Zayed Road — a 90-minute private transfer in normal traffic. We schedule transfers outside Dubai's morning and afternoon rush windows wherever possible. Most programmes structure 4–5 nights in Dubai followed by 3–4 nights in Abu Dhabi, with a single transfer between the two — not back-and-forth day trips.

Yes — the UAE is one of our strongest non-golfer destinations. Partner activities run alongside golf days: Burj Khalifa observation deck, Dubai Mall and souks, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Cultural District, desert dune dinners, traditional dhow cruises on Dubai Creek, and full-day spa programmes at Emirates Palace and Mandarin Oriental. Couples-priced packages assume one golfer plus one non-golfer; we can adjust for any combination.

What guests say about our UAE programme

★★★★★
The Burj Al Arab upgrade was worth every dollar. I've stayed in luxury hotels around the world and this was a different category. The Emirates Golf Club Majlis was the marquee round — playing the same 18th the Hero Dubai Desert Classic finishes on, with the Burj Khalifa right there behind the green. Cooee handled every transfer, every tee time, every dinner reservation without a single hiccup.
Robert & Helen K.Brisbane · February 2026
★★★★★
Yas Links is a genuine links course in the Middle East — I was sceptical until I played it. Native fescue, real dunes, the wind off the Gulf. It belongs on any links pilgrimage. My wife isn't a golfer and the Saadiyat day with the Louvre Abu Dhabi was apparently the highlight of her trip. Cooee priced the couple-package fairly and the standard tier accommodation was already excellent.
Andrew P.Sydney · November 2025
★★★★★
Played all six courses including the Ras al Khaimah extension — would absolutely recommend the extra two nights up north. Different pace, half the traffic, the lagoon course at Al Hamra was unexpectedly memorable. The pre-trip briefing with my Cooee specialist covered everything from Ramadan timing to the mosque dress code. Nothing surprised us on the ground.
