Six Ways to Experience a World City
However you like to travel, our local partner guides adapt each tour to your group's interests and pace. From first-time landmark tours in Paris and Rome to deep-dive niche tours in Tokyo or Istanbul, the structure stays consistent: small groups, real expertise, no surprises on the price.
Landmark Sightseeing
The big-ticket icons done properly — Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, Statue of Liberty, Hagia Sophia, Sagrada Família — with skip-the-line entries and guides who explain why they matter, not just what they are.
Plan a landmark tour →Walking Tours
Neighbourhoods on foot — Paris's Marais, Rome's Trastevere, Tokyo's Yanaka, London's Spitalfields, New York's Greenwich Village. The pace where cities reveal themselves.
Plan a walking tour →Food & Drink
Roman cacio e pepe in a backstreet trattoria, Tokyo's tsukemen masters, Istanbul Spice Bazaar, Barcelona tapas crawls, Parisian pâtisserie walks — guided by people who eat here daily.
Plan a food tour →Art & Museums
The Louvre, Vatican, MoMA, Rijksmuseum, Uffizi — with art historian guides who turn a 4-hour gallery visit into 90 minutes of revelation. Skip-the-line entries on every premium museum.

Cities transform after dark. Rooftop bars in Bangkok and Singapore, jazz cellars in Paris, izakaya crawls in Tokyo, illuminated skylines from New York to Istanbul.

Aus & Pacific →Popular Multi-City Routes
Classic combinations that work — pre-built itineraries you can take as-is, or use as the starting point for a custom multi-city trip. All include flights between cities, accommodation, expert local guides in each, and ground transport.
The European Classic
14 days, three capitals, two Eurostar/high-speed rail legs. The most-booked first-time European itinerary — and for good reason. Spring and autumn departures only to avoid peak summer crowds.
Japan's Golden Route
10 days across Japan's three cultural anchors — neon Tokyo, temple Kyoto, food-mad Osaka — with shinkansen bullet train transfers. Cherry blossom (March-April) and autumn foliage (November) departures sell out 12+ months ahead.
The American Northeast
9 days across the three foundational US cities — culture, history and political theatre, with Amtrak rail transfers. Autumn (Sep-Oct) for fall foliage; spring (Apr-May) for cherry blossom in DC.
Southern Africa Highlights
12 days combining Cape Town's city culture, Victoria Falls and Kruger National Park safari. The full southern Africa introduction with one trusted operator throughout.
Turkey Coast to Coast
11 days across Turkey's three signature regions — Byzantine Istanbul, the fairy-chimney landscapes and balloon flights of Cappadocia, and the Roman ruins of Ephesus.
Southeast Asia Triangle
10 days across Southeast Asia's three personalities — Singapore's polish, Bangkok's chaos, Siem Reap's Angkor Wat sunrise. A perfect introduction to Southeast Asia, often added before or after a Europe trip via Singapore stopover.

Aussie Planning, Local Guiding
Most international tour operators are either generic packagers with no real local depth, or single-country specialists who can't run a multi-city trip. Cooee sits in the middle — small enough to care, big enough to coordinate across continents.
One Aussie Contact
One Australian-based planner from first enquiry to post-trip debrief. No call centre, no offshore desk, no time-zone roulette.
Vetted Local Guides
Local guides we've personally worked with for years — born or long-resident in each city, English-fluent, and individually quality-checked every season.
24/7 In-Trip Support
An Australian emergency line that runs alongside your local guides. Flight cancellations, missed connections, sudden changes — we handle it.
ATAS Accredited
Australian Travel Accreditation Scheme — meaning your booking is financially protected under Australian consumer law.
International Travel Practicalities
Visas & Entry
For Australian passport holders, most popular destinations (EU/Schengen, UK, USA, Japan, Singapore) are visa-free or e-visa for short visits. Check current rules via SmartTraveller and the destination embassy before final booking. We provide destination-specific guidance but cannot lodge visas on your behalf.
Vaccinations & Health
Most cities on this page need no special vaccinations beyond your routine schedule. Africa, parts of South America and parts of Asia may need yellow fever, hepatitis or malaria prophylaxis. Check the CDC Traveler's Health database or your GP at least 8 weeks before travel.
Travel Insurance
Mandatory for all Cooee international tours. We strongly recommend comprehensive cover including medical evacuation, cancellation and baggage. We can suggest Australian providers but don't sell insurance directly — this keeps the recommendation genuinely independent.
Money & Cards
Bring at least two cards (one Visa, one Mastercard) on different banks. Inform your bank of travel dates. Major Australian travel cards (Wise, Revolut, ING) avoid the worst FX rates. Carry a small amount of local cash for tips and small purchases.
Time Zones & Jetlag
Eastward travel (Aus to Europe/Africa) is generally harder than westward. We build a buffer day into multi-city itineraries at the start, and recommend arriving 1–2 days before your tour starts for any trip more than 6 hours' time difference from Australia.
Language
All our local guides speak fluent English. A few words of the local language (hello, please, thank you) go a long way — but English is widely understood in every city on this page. Your guide will help with menus, signs and tricky moments.
What World Tour Guests Say
Our Paris guide Camille knew every quiet courtyard, every backstreet bakery, every story behind every doorway. We've travelled with bigger operators before — never with this level of local depth. Cooee feels small in the best way.
Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka — three completely different cities, but every transfer worked, every guide was excellent, and Cooee's Brisbane office was reachable any time we had a question. The single-point-of-contact thing is genuine.
We did the Southern Africa trip — Cape Town, Vic Falls, Kruger — and it was extraordinary. Our guide in Cape Town had grown up in District Six and didn't sugar-coat the history. Real, honest, beautifully delivered. Best trip of our lives.
Istanbul blew us away — the food tour through Karaköy, the Bosphorus ferry at sunset, our guide Berk's stories about the Byzantine and Ottoman layers of the city. It was our 50th anniversary and Cooee made it feel custom from the first phone call.
World City Tour FAQ
Cooee Tours offers guided city tours in 50+ cities across Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa & Middle East and Oceania. Featured cities include Paris, Tokyo, New York, London, Rome, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Istanbul and Singapore. Custom itineraries can be built for almost any city worldwide — just tell us where you want to go.
We partner with carefully vetted local guides and operators in each destination — many of whom we've worked with for 10+ years. Cooee handles itinerary design, bookings, coordination and quality assurance from Australia. On the ground, the people showing you Tokyo, Rome or Cape Town are genuine locals. You get one trusted Aussie point of contact AND authentic local knowledge — not the usual trade-off.
Yes — multi-city itineraries are a core offering. See our popular multi-city routes above for classic combinations like London–Paris–Rome, Tokyo–Kyoto–Osaka and Cape Town–Vic Falls–Kruger. Fully custom multi-city tours can be built around your interests, travel dates and budget.
Single-city tours: expert local English-speaking guide, all sightseeing entries listed in the itinerary, ground transport between sights. Multi-city packages typically also include hotels (3-5 star tier of your choice), inter-city flights or rail, and key meals (welcome dinner, farewell dinner, several lunches). International airfares from Australia, travel insurance, and visa fees are usually quoted separately so you can see the true component costs.
It depends on the destination and your passport. For Australian passport holders, EU/Schengen, UK, USA, Japan, Singapore and most popular destinations are visa-free or e-visa for short stays. India, China, Vietnam, Russia and some African nations require visas in advance. We provide destination-specific guidance — check SmartTraveller for current requirements.
Half-day local city tours start from AUD $195 per person. Private full-day single-city experiences from $695 pp. Multi-city escorted packages range from $4,995 (10-day Southeast Asia) to $14,995 (premium 21-day Europe). International airfares are quoted separately. Request a quote with your preferred cities and dates.
In each city, your guide is a vetted local expert — born or long-resident in that city, English-fluent, with deep cultural and historical knowledge. Cooee's Australian team handles your itinerary, bookings and in-trip support, so you have an Aussie point of contact while benefiting from authentically local guiding. On larger multi-city escorted groups, a Cooee tour director from Australia may travel with the group as well.
We strongly recommend arriving 1–2 days before any major international tour starts — gives your body time to adjust and protects against flight delays. Most multi-city itineraries have a built-in arrival buffer day with no required activities. We can also arrange pre-tour accommodation, airport transfers and arrival-day rest activities if requested.
