Canberra Weekend Itinerary

A weekend is the sweet spot for Canberra. Day one covers the national institutions and the lake at an easy pace; day two heads for the hills and the country, with a choice between the cool-climate wine district and the wildlife at Tidbinbilla. It is an easy long weekend from Sydney or Melbourne, and a relaxed two days for any group.

Follow it yourself or have us drive it. In spring we fold in Floriade; in winter, day two can become a Snowy Mountains snow day.

  • Day 1: the institutions, the lake, dinner in Braddon.
  • Day 2: a lookout, the Arboretum, then wine or nature.
  • Seasonal: Floriade in spring, snow in winter.
  • Base: the city centre keeps everything close.
