No — it’s designed for day walks too. Popular shorter sections include Apollo Bay to Shelly Beach, Cape Otway, and the Gables and Wreck Beach stretches near the end. Arrange a car shuttle for one-way sections.

How many days does the full walk take?

Most walkers take 6–8 days end-to-end, staying in designated hike-in campsites or using accommodation and shuttles. Book campsites ahead and check current track conditions.

Is the Great Ocean Walk hard?

Sections range from easy to moderate; it’s well marked but exposed and hilly in places. Carry water, sun protection and layers, and check tides for beach sections.
