The Penguin Parade at Summerland Beach is Phillip Island’s unmissable experience — and one of Australia’s great wildlife spectacles. As the light fades, little penguins (the world’s smallest, at around 33 cm) ride the surf ashore and cross the sand to their burrows, in groups small and large. It happens every single night of the year, rain or shine, managed for the penguins’ welfare by the not-for-profit Phillip Island Nature Parks.
