As the first light spills across the desert, the great monolith glows through ochre and rust to deep, burning red, and the surrounding spinifex plains come alive. On this tour we handle the early start, the transfers and park entry, and guide you at a sunrise viewing area — often adding a base walk or the Cultural Centre to deepen the experience. What does an Uluru sunrise tour include?

Can you climb Uluru?
No. Out of respect for the Anangu Traditional Owners, for whom Uluru is deeply sacred, the climb was permanently closed in October 2019. Visitors experience Uluru by walking around its base and from the viewing areas — which is far more rewarding.
Why is sunrise special at Uluru?
As the sun rises, Uluru shifts through ochre, rust and deep red, and the desert wakes with birdsong. The air is cool and the light is soft — for many it’s the most moving moment of a Red Centre trip.
Is there a park entry fee?
Yes — Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park charges an entry fee (a multi-day pass), which we can arrange as part of your tour. Check current details, as fees and conditions change.
