Brisbane to Noosa Day Tour

Glass House Mountains, Eumundi Markets, Laguna Lookout, Noosa National Park headland walk with wild koalas, and Hastings Street — the classic 1.5-hour drive north from Brisbane, done properly and with local guidance.

👥 Max 12 guests 🚌 Brisbane CBD pickup 🍽️ Lunch included ⏱️ Full day 7:30am–7pm

Noosa Heads is 1.5 hours north of Brisbane — and one of Queensland's most beautiful destinations. The National Park headland walk (one of the best coastal walks in the state, with koalas almost guaranteed in the trees above the trail), the Hastings Street restaurant strip (legitimately one of the finest dining precincts in Queensland), Main Beach (protected, crystal-clear, patrolled) and the Noosa River dining precinct are all within walking distance of each other.

Our Brisbane to Noosa day tour adds the Glass House Mountains (dramatic volcanic peaks named by Captain James Cook in 1770, sacred to the Jinibara and Kabi Kabi peoples, with a morning hike), Eumundi Markets (on Saturdays and Wednesdays — Australia's best artisan market with 600+ stalls), and the Laguna Lookout for sweeping panoramic views of Noosa and the Noosa River, creating a full day that covers four of Southeast Queensland's most rewarding destinations in a single sweep. We arrive at the markets before the big crowds — one of the key advantages of an early Brisbane departure.

📋 Brisbane to Noosa — Sample Schedule

🏙️
7:30 AM

Pickup — Brisbane CBD

We collect from hotels and major points across the CBD, South Bank and New Farm. Comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Coffee stop on the motorway north — we aim to arrive at the Glass House Mountains before the morning heat builds.

⛰️
8:45 AM

Glass House Mountains

Our guide leads a morning walk with the volcanic peaks as backdrop — either the Mt Ngungun summit track (2 hrs, panoramic 360° views, some scrambling required) or the easier Wild Horse Mountain lookout (30 min, outstanding views, suitable for all fitness levels). The guide explains the 23-million-year geological history and the deep significance of the mountains to the Jinibara and Kabi Kabi peoples, for whom the peaks are sacred country. Named by Captain James Cook in 1770 during his first voyage along the Australian coast.

🛒
11:00 AM (Sat/Wed only)

Eumundi Markets

Australia's best artisan market — 600+ stalls, live music, extraordinary street food and handcrafted everything. We arrive early before the big crowds, giving the group a full 90 minutes to explore calmly. The markets have been running for over 40 years and represent the Sunshine Coast's creative community at its best. On Saturday and Wednesday tours only. On other days we drive directly to Noosa, with the Sunday Noosa Farmers Market an excellent alternative option on Sundays.

🍽️
12:30 PM

Lunch — Noosa or Eumundi

On market days, lunch is sourced directly from the Eumundi stalls — local cheese, sourdough, artisan produce. On non-market days, a reserved table lunch at a Noosaville or Noosa Heads restaurant is included. Our guide knows the best spots and books accordingly — never a random walk-in.

🌊
1:15 PM

Laguna Lookout

A short stop at Laguna Lookout for sweeping panoramic views of Noosa, the Noosa River estuary, the national park headland, and the coastline beyond. One of the best elevated views on the Sunshine Coast — a favourite for photos and orientation before the walk. On clear days, you can see south to the Glasshouse Mountains silhouette.

2:00 PM

Noosa National Park Headland Walk

The 5.4km circuit through coastal heath and subtropical rainforest is one of Queensland's finest walks. The guide leads the group at a comfortable pace, pointing out the koalas that rest in the trees above the trail (almost always visible — the best wild koala spotting in Southeast Queensland outside a wildlife park), the dolphins in the bays below, and sea turtles that surface in the clear water offshore. The walk includes the clifftop views at Boiling Pot and Tea Tree Bay, with the option to swim at Granite Bay if the group wishes. At low tide, the rock platforms below the headland expose extraordinary marine life.

🌴
3:30 PM

Hastings Street & Main Beach Free Time

Two hours of free time in Noosa Heads — swim at Main Beach (protected from surf, patrolled, crystalline water), browse Hastings Street's boutiques, or walk along the Noosa River to the marina. The guide will recommend the best coffee, the best ice cream (the Noosa Chocolate Factory on Hastings Street is excellent), and the best sunset viewpoint based on conditions that afternoon.

🏙️
5:30 PM

Depart Noosa — Return to Brisbane

Comfortable 1.5-hour return drive along the Bruce Highway. Arrive Brisbane CBD approximately 7–7:30pm, dropped at original pickup points. Our guides usually share the best local knowledge of the day on the return drive — it's often the most engaging part of the conversation.

Practical Information

Departure: 7:30am from Brisbane CBD. We send confirmation with your exact pickup location 24 hours before departure. Most guests are from the CBD, South Bank, New Farm and Fortitude Valley — no taxi to a distant depot.

Return: Approximately 7–7:30pm at original Brisbane pickup points.

What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes (essential for both the Glass House Mountains and the Noosa NP walk), sunscreen, hat, swimwear and a towel for Main Beach, a small daypack, a light layer for the air conditioning, and a sense of unhurry.

Fitness level: The Glass House Mountains option is adjustable — Mt Ngungun summit requires reasonable fitness (1.5 hrs, some scrambling on rocks near the top); Wild Horse Mountain lookout is suitable for everyone including older guests. The Noosa National Park walk (5.4km coastal circuit) is easy to moderate on formed paths. Both can be modified for guests with mobility considerations — please advise when booking.

Group size: Maximum 12 guests. Minimum departure: 4 guests. Private departures available for 2–3 guests at a small supplement — contact us for a quote.

Best departure day: Saturday is our most popular departure — Eumundi Markets at their largest (600+ stalls) and the Noosa National Park at its most social. Wednesday is a close second (markets are smaller but far less crowded). Friday and Sunday tours offer additional free time in Noosa in place of the market.

📅 Market days: Eumundi Markets run on Saturday and Wednesday only. Tours departing on these days include the market visit (2 hrs on Saturday; 90 mins on Wednesday). Friday and Sunday tours drive directly to Noosa for additional free time. Both versions are excellent — just different. Saturday tours typically book out 2–3 weeks ahead in peak season (June–August).

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I book just a Brisbane to Noosa transfer without the tour?
We don't operate transfers — only guided day tours. If you're looking for a straightforward Brisbane to Noosa transfer, Greyhound Coach and Sunbus both operate this route. Our tour adds the Glass House Mountains walk, Eumundi Markets, the Laguna Lookout, and a guided Noosa National Park walk — if you'd like those experiences, our tour is the best way to do all of them in a single day.
Is the Noosa National Park walk suitable for children?
Yes — children who can walk 5km enjoy this walk enormously. The koalas are a guaranteed highlight for kids — seeing them wild in a real tree (not in a zoo) is a memorable experience at any age. The Glass House Mountains stop can be adjusted for families: Wild Horse Mountain lookout (easy, 30 min, suitable for all ages) is the right choice over the Mt Ngungun summit (which involves rock scrambling) for families with younger children.
What if I want to stay in Noosa overnight rather than return?
We can arrange a one-way departure — you travel with the group to Noosa and then make your own way back when you're ready. The one-way price is the same as the return tour. Contact us when booking to arrange this — many guests do this and then spend a night or two in Noosa before returning by bus or car.
How does this compare to driving myself?
Self-driving Brisbane to Noosa is easy (1.5 hrs on the Bruce Highway) and very flexible. Our tour adds: the Glass House Mountains walk with a guide who explains the volcanic history and First Nations significance, the Eumundi Market visit (Sat/Wed) timed to arrive before the crowds, the Laguna Lookout, and the Noosa National Park walk with a guide who knows exactly where the koalas are sleeping that day. If those guided elements appeal, the tour is the best way to do them. If you prefer total independence, the drive is excellent — it's a great road trip in its own right.
When is the best time of year to visit Noosa from Brisbane?
Noosa is excellent year-round from Brisbane — unlike Far North Queensland, there's no stinger season or cyclone risk. June–August (dry season) offers the most reliable blue-sky weather. October–November adds jacaranda blossoms along the Noosa River. Summer (December–February) is warm and the beach season is in full swing but it can be hot on the NP walk — an early start helps. Winter temperatures in Noosa are ideal for walking.
