Two days gives K'gari room to breathe. With a self-drive package you get the freedom to linger at Lake McKenzie, chase the light at the Maheno, and reach the quieter northern beaches — while we take the stress out of the logistics.
We set you up with a suitable 4WD, the barge crossing, the national park vehicle access permit, an overnight stay and a route planned around the tides, plus a thorough briefing before you go.

Who this suits — and tides matter
Self-drive on K'gari means real off-road and beach driving. You'll need a current licence and confidence on sand, and you must follow the tide windows — stay off Seventy-Five Mile Beach about two hours either side of high tide. If you'd rather not drive, our guided day tour is the relaxed alternative.
All dingo-safe rules apply: secure food, never feed wildlife, and keep children close at all times.
