Hamilton Island has its own airport (HTI) with direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on Qantas and Virgin — you can fly straight to the island. From the mainland, Cruise Whitsundays ferries connect Hamilton Island Marina and the airport with the Port of Airlie (about an hour). No car is needed on the island — you get around by golf buggy, shuttle or on foot.
