What is Kings Park?
Kings Park and Botanic Garden is one of the world’s largest inner-city parks — around 400 hectares of bushland, gardens and lawns on Mount Eliza, overlooking the Swan River and Perth’s skyline. Entry is free, and it’s home to the WA Botanic Garden, war memorials and the treetop Federation Walkway.
Is Kings Park free?
Yes — entry to the park and Botanic Garden is free. Some guided tours, events and parking may have charges, but wandering, picnicking and the lookouts cost nothing.
When is the best time to visit?
Spring (roughly September to October) for the Kings Park Festival and wildflowers, and any clear evening for sunset over the river and city. Mornings are lovely and quiet year-round.
