For Kenya and Tanzania, the peak dry season of June–October offers the finest game viewing — sparse vegetation concentrates wildlife at waterholes, and the Great Migration river crossings in the Maasai Mara run from late July to October. The southern Serengeti calving season is late January to March. Zanzibar is best December–March and July–October.
