The harbour, the Bridge & the Gardens
You don't need to spend a cent to enjoy Sydney's greatest hits. Admire the Opera House from the forecourt, walk across the Harbour Bridge on the eastern footpath, and wander the Royal Botanic Garden to Mrs Macquaries Point for the classic photo of both icons together. Add a walk through historic The Rocks — with its free weekend markets to browse — and you've seen the heart of Sydney for nothing.
Beaches, coastal walks & foreshores
Sydney's outdoors is its greatest free asset. Spend a day at Bondi, Manly or any of a hundred beaches, walk the spectacular Bondi-to-Coogee coastal path, or picnic in the harbourside parks — Barangaroo Reserve, the Royal Botanic Garden, Hyde Park and the foreshores around Darling Harbour all invite you to slow down with a view.
