Looking Ahead

Brisbane 2032 Olympic & Paralympic Games

Australia's third Olympic Games — and the first to be shared across an entire state. Here's what's confirmed so far, and how Cooee Tours is getting ready.

23 July – 8 August 2032

Games planning spans several years and details are still evolving — venues, transport plans, and dates below are correct as of {{LAST_MODIFIED_DISPLAY}}. For the latest official information, see the Australian Olympic Committee or the Queensland Government's Brisbane 2032 site.

In 2032, Brisbane will host the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games — Australia's third, after Melbourne 1956 and Sydney 2000. Unlike those Games, Brisbane 2032 is being deliberately spread across South East Queensland and beyond, with events confirmed as far afield as Cairns, Townsville, Toowoomba, and the Wide Bay-Burnett region.

For a Brisbane-based travel company that's been showing visitors this state since 1974, that's not just a sporting event — it's six years of growing visitor interest in exactly the regions we already know best. We'll be building this page out into a full traveller's guide as venue and transport plans firm up.

What's Confirmed So Far

Brisbane & South East Queensland Venues

The core of the Games — main stadium, athletes' village, and flagship venues — centres on Brisbane and its surrounds.

Opening & Closing

Brisbane Stadium, Victoria Park

The new main stadium, being built at Victoria Park (Barrambin), will host the opening and closing ceremonies along with athletics. It's the centrepiece of the Games infrastructure build.

Athletes' Village

Brisbane Showgrounds & Northshore Hamilton

The main athletes' village is planned across inner-Brisbane sites, with satellite villages supporting events hosted outside the city.

Cycling

Anna Meares Velodrome

A dedicated velodrome named for Australian cycling great Anna Meares, forming part of the permanent legacy infrastructure for the Games.

Aquatics

National Aquatic Centre

A new aquatics centre for swimming and diving, adding to Queensland's existing pool infrastructure built for events like the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Beyond Brisbane

The Games Across Queensland

Brisbane 2032 is a whole-of-state Games. Several of these host regions are ones we already run tours in — worth bookmarking if you're planning a trip around the events.
