Private Group Experience
By Arrangement Only

Sunshine Coast Cooking Classes

Hands-on cooking with local chefs, using hinterland produce — available as a private experience for groups of 2–12 by arrangement. We'll build a bespoke day combining cooking, markets, and village touring.

How It Works

Cooking classes are not part of our scheduled day-tour programme — they're available as a private group experience by arrangement. You enquire, we design a bespoke itinerary that combines a hands-on cooking session with other Sunshine Coast highlights, and we provide the transport and guide for the full day.

We partner with established hinterland cooking schools and chefs who specialise in seasonal, locally sourced menus. Sessions typically run 2–3 hours and involve preparing and sharing a multi-course meal using produce from local farms and markets.

This is not a scheduled product. Pricing, availability, and itinerary depend on group size, preferred dates, and the cooking school or chef. Contact us with your preferences and we'll provide a tailored quote.

Sample Day Ideas

Every private cooking experience is built around your group's interests. Here are some examples of how a day might come together.

Market-to-Table

Morning at Eumundi Markets sourcing ingredients, then a hands-on cooking session at a hinterland kitchen using what you've bought. Finish with a shared meal overlooking the range.

Hinterland Produce Day

Visit a Maleny cheese producer, pick up local honey and seasonal fruit, then cook a hinterland-inspired lunch with a local chef. Afternoon village time in Montville.

Corporate Team Building

A cooking challenge using local ingredients, facilitated by a professional chef. Works well for team-building groups of 6–12. Combine with a scenic hinterland drive and morning tea at a lookout.

What's Included

Details vary by itinerary, but a typical private cooking day includes:

  • Door-to-door pick-up and return (Sunshine Coast or Brisbane)
  • Air-conditioned vehicle with driver-guide for the full day
  • 2–3 hour hands-on cooking session with a local chef
  • Ingredients and a shared meal (the food you cook)
  • Additional stops as agreed (markets, producers, villages, lookouts)

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people do I need for a private cooking class?

Minimum 2 guests, maximum 12. Pricing is per group, so the cost per person decreases with larger groups. Contact us for a quote.

Do I need cooking experience?

No. Sessions are designed for all skill levels, from beginners to confident home cooks. The chef guides you through every step.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Yes. Let us know your dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies) when enquiring and we'll match you with a chef and menu that works for your group.

How far in advance should I book?

At least 2–3 weeks is recommended to allow time to coordinate with cooking schools. For peak holiday periods, book further ahead.

Can I combine a cooking class with other tour activities?

Yes — that's the whole idea. We build a full day around the cooking session, combining it with markets, producer visits, hinterland villages, or beach stops. You tell us what interests your group and we design the itinerary.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on group size, the cooking school or chef, and the full day's itinerary. Contact us with your preferences for a tailored quote.
