Hamilton Island Golf Club occupies its own island — Dent Island — accessible only by club ferry from Hamilton Marina.   • 09:15 — Hamilton Island Marina arrival; transfer to Dent Island club ferry (~10 minutes)

Good to Know

  • Climate: May–October is the dry season — clear blue days, low humidity, ideal golf conditions. November–April brings warmer, wetter weather; mornings remain excellent for golf, but afternoons can carry tropical storms.
  • Getting here: Whitsunday Coast Airport (Proserpine) is 30 minutes from Airlie Beach by transfer. Hamilton Island Airport sits directly on the island. Brisbane–Whitsunday Coast flights run multiple times daily; direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne are also available.
  • Hamilton Island access: Reach Hamilton Island via fast-cat ferry from Airlie Beach (Port of Airlie, ~30 min) or direct flight. The Dent Island club ferry runs from Hamilton Marina in coordination with tee times — usually 30 minutes between sailings.
  • Accommodation: Airlie Beach offers everything from backpacker to four-star. Hamilton Island has resort options (Reef View, Beach Club, Qualia for premium). For Hamilton Island Golf packages, on-island accommodation removes the morning ferry from your itinerary.
  • Group sizes: 2 to 16 golfers per tour. Larger corporate groups handled with multiple vehicles and ferry coordination — let us know early for tee-time blocks at Hamilton Island.
  • Weather plan: Tropical storms may delay or relocate Hamilton Island ferry runs. We hold flexible tee-time arrangements and will reschedule promptly. Multi-day packages absorb weather variability comfortably.

Cooee handles the full transfer chain — accommodation pickup at Airlie Beach, ferry to Hamilton Island Marina, and the dedicated club ferry across to Dent Island. The Dent Island ferry runs in coordination with tee times so the whole sequence stays smooth. Total transit is roughly 90 minutes door-to-tee.
