For a seaside stay, base at Glenelg — beachfront hotels and apartments, the jetty and Jetty Road on your doorstep, sunsets over the Gulf, and a direct tram into the city (about 25 minutes). It's especially good for families and for anyone wanting a relaxed, holiday feel. Quieter beach suburbs like Henley and Glenelg North offer a similar vibe. When to book
Adelaide generally has good choice, but book early for the February–March festival season — "Mad March" and the January Tour Down Under fill the city and push up prices.
