Adelaide to Darwin via the Stuart Highway — 3,000 kilometres through the geographical heart of the continent, with Big Things as your roadside markers. Start at the Big Scotsman at Medindie (the genre's 1963 progenitor). End at the Big Boxing Crocodile at Humpty Doo. Between them: the Big Galah, Uluru, the Big Stubby at Larrimah (population: one), Charlie the Buffalo from Crocodile Dundee, and the Top End. The ultimate Australian outback Big Things drive.
