Brisbane's Sporting Soul
Suncorp Stadium tours — go beyond the stands, go inside the game
Brisbane is a city defined by its football passion. From the thunderous atmosphere of Friday night NRL at Suncorp Stadium — nicknamed "The Cauldron" for very good reason — to the spectacle of NRL Magic Round and Australia's most fiercely contested rivalry, the State of Origin, sport is woven into Brisbane's identity like nowhere else in Australia.
Cooee Tours' Brisbane football tours take you places a standard match ticket never can. A Suncorp Stadium tour walks you through the dressing rooms, the players' tunnel, the coaches box and the media facilities — areas typically reserved for elite athletes, club members and accredited media. Our match-day packages combine premium seating with pre-game hospitality and expert local commentary across the full NRL match day experience Brisbane is famous for.
What we do — and don't do
Cooee Tours is the official tour partner that packages and coordinates Suncorp Stadium's behind-the-scenes tour with hotel pickup, expert guide commentary and group facilitation. The 90-minute stadium tour itself is run by Suncorp Stadium's official tour team. Suncorp tours operate Monday to Friday only — we require 14 days' notice to confirm dates.
Suncorp Stadium — "The Cauldron"
Originally established as Lang Park in 1914, Suncorp Stadium sits on the site of the former North Brisbane Cemetery and was rebuilt as a world-class 52,500-seat rectangular stadium in 2003. Widely regarded as one of the world's finest rugby league venues for atmosphere, it's the home of the Brisbane Broncos (NRL) and Queensland Reds (Super Rugby Pacific). The stadium hosts State of Origin matches in Brisbane, NRL Magic Round (secured at the venue through at least 2027), and select Dolphins NRL fixtures. Its intimate three-tiered bowl design creates an atmosphere visiting coaches consistently describe as the most intimidating in Australian sport.
Brisbane AFL in 2026 — The Gabba transition
The Gabba — universally known as The Brisbane Cricket Ground — has been the home of the Brisbane Lions (AFL) and Brisbane Heat (BBL) for over three decades. From early 2026, The Gabba is progressively closing for full redevelopment as the centrepiece of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. The Lions and Heat are relocating to a temporary home at the RNA Showgrounds in Bowen Hills while a new 63,000-seat stadium is built at Victoria Park (opening 2029). Our 2026 packages focus on Suncorp Stadium — AFL match-day experiences are available on enquiry once the 2026 RNA Showgrounds fixture is confirmed.
