What will we photograph?

When is the light best?
Golden hour at dawn and dusk, when Dove Lake is still and the boatshed glows, and wombats come out to graze. Mist and changing alpine weather can be a gift for atmosphere. We time the tour around the light and conditions on the day.
Do I need a pro camera?
No — the tour suits everyone from serious photographers to keen phone shooters. A tripod helps for low light and reflections. Bring spare batteries (cold drains them fast) and a way to keep gear dry, and we’ll help with composition and timing.
Can we shoot in winter or snow?
Yes — snow is possible any time and transforms the landscape. See Cradle Mountain in winter. Whatever the season, dress in warm, waterproof layers, because the weather brings four seasons in a day.
