Guided Day Walks
The best way to feel Cradle Mountain is to walk it — the Dove Lake Circuit, Marions Lookout, the mossy Enchanted Walk and, in good weather, the summit, with a guide.
Guided Day Walks
The best way to feel Cradle Mountain is to walk it. With a guide you can circle Dove Lake beneath the jagged peak, climb to Marions Lookout for the big view, or wander the mossy Enchanted Walk through ancient rainforest — and, in good weather, the fit can attempt the Cradle summit. We read the alpine weather, handle the park pass and shuttle, and set a pace to suit your group. Family-owned since 1974, quoted per enquiry.

Guided Day Walks — FAQ
Which walks can I do with a guide?
From easy to challenging — the Dove Lake Circuit (~6 km, 2–3 hr) past the boatshed, the climb to Marions Lookout, the short Enchanted Walk and, for the fit, the Cradle summit in good weather. Tailored to your group — get in touch.
How fit do I need to be?
There’s a walk for most levels. The Dove Lake Circuit and Enchanted Walk are gentle; Marions Lookout is a steeper climb; and the summit is a hard, exposed full-day scramble with chain sections for experienced, fit walkers only. Tell us your ability and we’ll match the route.
What does a guide add?
Local knowledge and reassurance — a guide reads the alpine weather, points out wombats, pandani and buttongrass moorland, shares the story of the landscape, and keeps you on track. It lets you relax and take it in rather than navigate.
What should I wear and bring?
The weather is alpine — four seasons in a day, snow possible any time — so warm, waterproof layers, a hat, gloves and sturdy boots are essential, along with water and snacks. See what to pack.
Do you handle the pass and shuttle?
Yes — we take care of the national-park pass and the Dove Lake shuttle (often mandatory in peak season) so you can focus on the walking. Walks are quoted per enquiry rather than at a fixed price.
