Why Book With Us

Six reasons travellers choose Cooee

Everything we do is built around the idea that most people visit Australia once — and that once should be extraordinary.

01

Genuine small groups

Hard cap of 16 guests on every tour — not a soft target we regularly exceed. Most departures run with 8–14.

02

Brisbane-based experts

Speak directly to the people planning your tour. No overseas call centres, no generic templates. Local experience built over 35 years.

03

Properly paced itineraries

We build in time. Dawn at the Apostles before the crowds, sunset at Uluru with space to sit with it. Not a checklist sprint.

04

Hand-picked accommodation

Every property in every itinerary has been personally stayed in. Premium lodges, boutique hotels, and character over corporate.

05

Flexible, fair booking

20% deposit, interest-free payment plans, and free date changes up to 60 days before departure. No fine-print surprises.

06

Best price guarantee

Find a comparable tour at a lower price and we'll match it or beat it. No hidden fees on any of our published rates.

★★★★★
Red Centre Dreaming · Jun 2026

Watching the sunrise over Uluru with an Anangu guide explaining what the rock means to his family was the most affecting thing I've done in years. Our group was ten people. It felt like a private experience.

Ultimate East Coast · Apr 2026

Fourteen days, zero rushed mornings, every detail handled. Our guide Marcus stopped at a lookout not on any itinerary — a hidden section of the Twelve Apostles most people drive straight past.

Tasmania Wilderness · Feb 2026

The pacing was what made this trip. We actually had time at Cradle Mountain — a full lodge day with a guided Dove Lake walk, then our own afternoon. Port Arthur after the bus tours left. Small group, proper depth.

Booking & Logistics

Practical questions, answered

Peak season (Jun–Sep in the north, Dec–Feb in Tasmania) typically fills 3–5 months ahead. Red Centre and Kimberley departures are often the first to close. Shoulder-season tours can usually be booked 6–8 weeks out. Custom itineraries need 8–12 weeks of planning lead time.
A 20% deposit secures your booking. Balance is due 60 days before departure. We offer interest-free payment plans on most tours — monthly instalments across the lead time. No booking or credit card fees.
Yes — one free date change per booking, up to 60 days before original departure (subject to availability on the new date). Additional changes or later changes may incur a fee, which we'll always confirm in writing before processing.
All accommodation, all ground transport between destinations, every experience listed in the itinerary, national park entry fees, expert local guiding throughout, breakfasts daily, and most lunches and dinners (detail varies by tour). International and domestic flights to tour start/end points are not included but we can arrange them.
Hard cap of 16 guests — not a soft target. Most departures run with 8–14. If a tour needs more than 16 (rare), we split it into two departures with separate guides rather than upsize the group. Private small-group tours (your family/friends only) are also available.
Yes. 23 of our 50+ tours run with waived single supplements on selected departures — marked clearly on each tour page. Our group mix is typically 30–40% solo travellers, so there's always genuine company without pressure.
Most of our tours are rated "easy to moderate" — walkable itineraries with optional longer hikes. Each tour page has a specific activity rating. Tours involving Overland Track, Kimberley walks, or the Kings Canyon rim walk are rated "moderate to active" and we'll tell you clearly if a departure isn't suitable.
Absolutely. Any tour can be run privately for your own group, on your preferred dates, with itinerary tweaks. Extensions (extra nights, regional add-ons, flight upgrades) are straightforward. Our Brisbane team will build it with you — start a custom enquiry.
