From a two-region escape to a full round-the-world — proven routes, sequenced to minimise backtracking and built to be tailored around you.
Plan my routeThe world is vast, so the route is everything. These proven journeys — from a two-region escape to a full round-the-world — are each built to be tailored around you.
A great multi-country trip is a matter of sequencing — the right regions in the right order, with hubs that shorten the flying and stopovers that break the journey. Whether you have a fortnight or two months, the principle is the same: go deep in a few places rather than skimming many.
Below are starting points our travellers love. Every one can be shortened, extended, combined or upgraded — and paced with the rest days that make long trips a pleasure rather than a marathon.
Starting points to tailor around your dates, pace and budget.
Japan and Thailand, or Vietnam, Cambodia and a beach finale.
Machu Picchu, Buenos Aires and the end of the world.
Kenya and Tanzania, or Cape Town, Kruger and the Falls.
Italy and beyond — cities, coast and countryside.
Every itinerary here is a starting point. Tell us your must-dos and we'll sequence the regions, hubs and stopovers into one seamless journey.
Start planningA round-the-world (RTW) journey strings several regions into one continuous itinerary, usually flying in one direction — for example Australia → Asia → Europe → the Americas → home. It's the most efficient way to see a lot in one big trip, and we route it to minimise backtracking and jet lag.
For two regions, allow 2–3 weeks; for a genuine round-the-world, 4–8 weeks or more. The key is depth over breadth — better three countries done well than eight rushed. We pace every itinerary with rest days built in. See our how to plan guide.
Yes — and stopovers make it easy. A Middle East or Asia hub (Dubai, Doha, Singapore) links neatly to Europe or Africa; Los Angeles bridges to the Americas. Popular pairings: Asia + Europe, Africa + Middle East, and South + North America. See our international flights guide.
Book 9–12 months ahead for peak season and for trips involving small-ship cruising, gorilla permits or the Inca Trail, which have strict capacity. Long, multi-leg fares are also cheaper and more available when booked early.
Both. Cooee runs small-group tours of 16 or fewer and tailors fully private, multi-country journeys around your dates, pace and budget. Every trip is planned end to end from Brisbane with 24/7 support. Family-run since 1974.
