A day among the vines is one of the most romantic things you can do near Brisbane — and it's even better when it's just the two of you, with someone else driving. Private cellar-door tastings, a vineyard long lunch, and a day shaped entirely around you.
Cooee Tours acknowledges the Turrbal and Jagera (Yuggera) peoples as the Traditional Custodians of Meanjin (Brisbane) and the many First Nations lands our wine tours travel through. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
Overview
A Day on the Vines, Just the Two of You
There's something about wine country that brings couples back to themselves — the slow pace, the long lunch, the hours with nowhere to be. Within an hour of Brisbane you'll find rainforest-clad cellar doors, rural vineyards with mountain views, and a hilltop winery looking out to Moreton Bay.
Make it a private experience for two and the day becomes entirely yours: your own vehicle and guide, a route chosen around what you both love to drink, and an unhurried lunch among the vines — with neither of you watching the clock or worrying about the drive home.
Perfect For
However You Want to Celebrate
Anniversaries & Milestones
Mark the day with a long lunch on a vineyard terrace and a toast to the years — we'll handle every detail so you can just be present together.
Birthdays & Date Days
A relaxed, grown-up day out that beats dinner-and-a-movie — cellar doors at your pace, a leisurely lunch, and not a single thing to organise.
Proposals
A quiet cellar door, the right moment, a glass in hand. Tell us the plan and we'll set the scene discreetly — and toast you afterwards with a glass of Cooee Wine.
Just Because
No occasion needed. Sometimes the best reason for a private day among the vines is simply time, together, with someone else driving.
Tell us what you're marking when you enquire and we'll weave in the right touches.
Two Ways to Do It
Private Day, or a Long Lunch for Two
Private · For Two
Private Romantic Wine Day
Your own vehicle, your own guide, your own route. A relaxed run of cellar doors across Mount Tamborine, the Scenic Rim or Sirromet — tailored to your taste and pace, door-to-door from Brisbane, finished with a glass of our own Cooee Wine.
The centrepiece of any romantic wine day — a gourmet long lunch at an award-winning cellar-door restaurant, with the morning's tastings behind you and the afternoon stretching out ahead. We'll arrange the table and the timing.
Every Cooee wine tour finishes with something you won't find anywhere else — a tasting of Cooee Wine, our own house label. It's how we round out the day and send you home with a memory of the country you've just explored. For couples, it's a sweet note to end on — and an easy keepsake to take home from the day.
Ask your guide about the story behind the label and how to take a bottle (or a case) home. On private and corporate bookings it can feature front and centre — ideal for gifting, celebrations and client days.

Weekdays are consistently better than weekends for a couples day. The cellar doors are quieter, the pours are longer, and lunch tables are easier.
Winter suits the Granite Belt specifically — fireplaces, big reds and the Brass Monkey season, when the region leans into being the coldest part of Queensland. Spring brings wildflowers and the most settled weather. Summer is the quietest for wine and the best for the hinterland, where the ranges run several degrees cooler than the city.
Autumn is the pick. Vintage runs through March and April, the cellar doors are busy with fruit coming in, the vines colour, and the weather is warm days and cool nights without summer's humidity.
Seasonal Timing for a Day for Two
The other practical difference is that neither of you has to drive, which on a tasting day is the entire point.
Fewer stops, longer at each. Three cellar doors with time to actually talk to whoever is pouring beats five at a march. Lunch as the centrepiece rather than a refuel. And the flexibility to stay somewhere that is working — a terrace with a view, a barrel room, a conversation with a winemaker — instead of moving because a schedule says so.
Two people tour differently from twelve, and the itinerary should reflect that rather than being a smaller version of a group day.
What Makes a Couples Day Different
On a private day the itinerary itself can be built around the moment: a quiet lookout between cellar doors, or an early arrival before the venue fills.
Told in advance, a restaurant will hold a particular table, time the courses differently, and keep other guests away from a terrace at the right moment. Told on the day, they can do very little. The same applies to anniversaries and milestone birthdays — the flowers, the cake, the champagne on arrival are all straightforward with notice and impossible without it.
A cellar door is a common setting for a proposal, and the difference between one that works and one that is awkward is almost entirely how far ahead the venue knew.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
The winning combination is privacy, a beautiful setting and no logistics to worry about. A private tour for two gives you your own vehicle and guide, a relaxed run of cellar doors chosen to your taste, and an unhurried vineyard long lunch — all door-to-door from Brisbane so neither of you has to drive. The Scenic Rim, Mount Tamborine and Sirromet all deliver that in spades.
Absolutely — it's one of our most-requested experiences. Because we run our own fleet, a couples' tour can be as intimate as the two of you in a comfortable private vehicle, with the whole day built around what you both enjoy. See our private tours or tell us your date and we'll quote it.
It's one of the loveliest ways to mark an occasion. We can quietly build in special touches — a particular cellar door, a window table for lunch, a bottle of something memorable, or a discreet hand with a proposal. Just let us know what you're celebrating when you enquire and we'll help make it feel effortless.
Mount Tamborine is a romantic favourite — boutique cellar doors, distilleries and rainforest views within an hour of the city. The Scenic Rim and Canungra Valley suit a slower, rural long-lunch day. And Sirromet at Mount Cotton is hard to beat for a polished half-day with bay views, around 35 minutes from the CBD. We tailor the route to you.
Private tours are quoted per booking rather than per seat, so the price depends on the regions, the vehicle, the length of the day and any extras like a long lunch. Tell us your date, where you'd like to go and what you're celebrating, and we'll send a tailored quote. Bookings are secured with a deposit, with free cancellation up to 48 hours before.
