Our advice: Choose one park and do it thoroughly rather than attempting two. A full day at Movie World or Dreamworld — arriving at opening, beating the queues on the big rides before 11am, and enjoying the shows in the afternoon — is far better than half a day at each. Beach season at its peak. Hot, humid, and lively. Afternoon thunderstorms are dramatic and frequent. Best water temperature (26°C). Theme parks at maximum capacity — book well ahead. School holiday crowds from mid-December.
