A word on how many things fit in a day
Fewer than you think. The Gold Coast's three landscapes — the beach strip, the theme-park corridor at Oxenford and Coomera, and the hinterland forty minutes inland — are not close to each other, and almost every disappointing day here comes from treating them as if they were. One of the three, done properly, beats two done at a rush. Our itineraries are built around that constraint.
What is included, and what to ask
Inclusions vary between tours and it is worth being specific rather than assuming. Ask what is covered on entries and tastings, whether lunch is in or extra, what the group size is, and where pickup happens. On a hinterland day, also ask what happens if a venue is closed — in that region it is a real possibility rather than a hypothetical.

What runs when
Most of what we do here runs year-round. A few things genuinely do not, and a few are much better in one half of the year than the other.
Seasonal
Whale watching is the one hard season — humpbacks pass the coast on migration roughly from June through to early November, and outside that window there is nothing to see. If whales are the reason for your trip, build the dates around them rather than the other way round.
Better in the cooler months
The hinterland days — waterfalls, rainforest walking, the cellar doors — are all noticeably better from about April to September. The plateau runs several degrees below the coast, the humidity drops, the walking is comfortable rather than punishing, and the mountain roads are more pleasant. Winter weekends up there are busy for exactly this reason, so book earlier than you would expect to need to.
Better in the warmer months
Anything on or in the water. Surf lessons, the sunset cruise and the beach-based days are all more appealing when the ocean is warm and the evenings are long. The water rarely gets genuinely cold here, so this is a preference rather than a rule.
Unaffected either way
Theme park transfers, shopping, wildlife and the food and drink tours run and work all year. Rain changes a hinterland day more than it changes any of these — and a wet day is when the waterfalls are at their best anyway.
The thing that matters more than weather
Queensland school holidays. They move accommodation prices, fill the theme-park car parks and make the hinterland roads slow, and they affect availability on every tour here. If your dates are flexible, the fortnight either side of a holiday block buys you the same weather at a very different level of crowding.
