"The Sunshine Coast is best experienced slowly — not rushed through a checklist, but savoured. That's exactly how we design every tour we run."
The Sunshine Coast is one of Queensland's most beautiful and accessible holiday regions — a 100-kilometre ribbon of golden beaches, lush hinterland villages and world-class wildlife experiences stretching from Caloundra to Noosa. It's also one of the most rewarding destinations to explore on a guided tour, especially when someone else handles the driving, parking and logistics.
Our Sunshine Coast day tours are thoughtfully designed for seniors and over-50 travellers who value comfort, great company and a pace that never feels rushed. Small groups, experienced local guides, modern air-conditioned coaches, accessible venues and meals included on full-day tours — all you need to bring is your camera, a sun hat and a sense of curiosity.
Six Sunshine Coast Experiences for Seniors
Wildlife, waterways, markets, mountains and food & wine — each carefully crafted for comfort, accessibility and genuine enjoyment.
Australia Zoo — Home of the Crocodile Hunter
Visit the world-famous wildlife park founded by Steve and Terri Irwin, home to more than 1,200 animals across 100 acres. Get up close with koalas (and hold one — Queensland is one of the few states that allows it), hand-feed kangaroos in the walkthrough, and watch the legendary Wildlife Warriors show in the Crocoseum. The zoo is fully wheelchair accessible with sealed paths throughout, shaded rest areas, mobility scooter hire on site, and a wonderful range of accessible eateries. All entry fees, morning tea and lunch included.
Noosa Everglades & River Cruise
Begin with morning tea on Noosa's elegant Hastings Street before boarding a comfortable cruise vessel to glide through one of only two everglade systems on Earth. The mirror-like waterways of the upper Noosa River — nicknamed the "River of Mirrors" — are home to sea eagles, turtles, freshwater crocodiles and over 44% of Australia's bird species. This gentle, seated cruise is one of the most peaceful and beautiful experiences on the entire Sunshine Coast. Delicious lunch included riverside.
Maleny & Hinterland Discovery
Journey into the stunning hinterland along the Blackall Range to the charming mountain villages of Maleny and Montville. Visit the award-winning Maleny Botanic Gardens and Bird World, where exotic macaws and lorikeets land on your outstretched arms against a backdrop of panoramic Glass House Mountains views. Browse the artisan shops of Montville, sample locally roasted coffee, and enjoy a two-course lunch with sweeping mountain panoramas. Sealed, flat paths throughout — beautifully accessible.
Eumundi Markets & Noosa Experience
Spend the morning at the Original Eumundi Markets — Australia's largest artisan market operating since 1979 — browsing over 600 stalls of handmade crafts, original art, gourmet food and local produce under the shade of magnificent heritage fig trees. Gentle, flat walkways and plenty of seating throughout. Afterwards, stroll the paved boardwalk section of Noosa National Park (flat, wheelchair-accessible for the first section), explore Hastings Street's boutiques and enjoy a relaxed beachside lunch. Perfect for market lovers of all abilities.
Ginger Factory & Coastal Villages
Discover the iconic Ginger Factory in Yandina — a Sunshine Coast institution since 1954 — with its fascinating heritage displays, subtropical gardens and famous ginger products. Ride the vintage cane-train through tropical gardens, then head to Mooloolaba Beach for a relaxed seafood lunch on the esplanade. Stroll the flat, accessible boardwalk to Mooloolaba Spit for calm-water views and watch the fishing fleet come in. One of Australia's safest and most accessible beaches — a beautiful ending to a warm Sunshine Coast morning.
Sunshine Coast Food & Wine Trail
Savour the genuine flavours of the region with visits to Flame Hill Vineyard for guided wine tastings with mountain views, local artisan cheese makers, a boutique craft brewery and gourmet producers throughout the hinterland. Enjoy a two-course lunch with panoramic views. Browse farm-gate stores selling macadamia nuts, raw honey, cold-pressed olive oil and handmade chocolates along the way. A tour that rewards every sense — and frequently extends the lunch table conversation well beyond schedule.
What to Expect on Your Tour
Six ways our senior tours differ from everything else on the market.
🚐 Comfortable, Easy-Access Transport
Modern air-conditioned coaches with handrails, wide-entrance steps and comfortable seating with genuine legroom. Large panoramic windows ensure you don't miss a single view. We collect you directly from your Sunshine Coast accommodation — Caloundra to Noosa — so there are no taxis, no car parks and no rushing.
🗣️ Passionate Local Guides
Our guides are Sunshine Coast locals who genuinely love the region and love sharing it. They ensure everyone is comfortable, point out wildlife you'd otherwise miss, carry shopping bags back to the coach without being asked, and know the best accessible bathrooms at every stop on the route.
⏰ Relaxed Pace — Never Rushed
The best travel experiences come without a clock ticking. Our tours move at a genuinely comfortable pace — proper sit-down meals, plenty of time at each destination and regular rest stops. There is no race to be back at the coach. All walks are entirely optional and on well-maintained, sealed surfaces.
💰 All-Inclusive — No Surprises
Your tour price covers absolutely everything: transport, guide, all entry fees, morning tea and a proper sit-down lunch on full-day tours, plus bottled water on the coach. The only additional spending is personal shopping or optional extras. No hidden costs ever.
♿ Designed for Accessibility
We select attractions with excellent accessibility — sealed paths, well-maintained accessible bathrooms, shaded seating, step-free entrances and wheelchair access where available. Australia Zoo, Eumundi Markets, Maleny Botanic Gardens and the Ginger Factory all provide excellent accessible experiences. Let us know your specific requirements when booking.
👫 Small, Friendly Groups
With just 12–20 guests per tour, you'll receive genuine personal attention, make lasting friendships over morning tea, and never feel like a number in a crowd. Small groups mean quicker boarding, more flexibility at each stop, and the kind of warm social atmosphere that has led many of our guests to book again and again.
