The Sunshine Coast as It Should Be Experienced
Most Sunshine Coast tours put 30–50 people on a coach, hit the same four stops in the same sequence, and are back at the hotel by 5pm. Our luxury day tours are built on the opposite premise: fewer guests, better guides, more flexibility, higher-quality food and accommodation stops, and an itinerary shaped around what you actually want to experience.
The 8-guest cap is non-negotiable — it's the foundation of what makes these tours work. At 8 guests, everyone gets a window seat. The guide can learn your names and interests within the first twenty minutes. The pace is set by the group, not a departure schedule. Stops can be extended if the group is absorbed. That flexibility simply doesn't exist at 20 guests, no matter how skilled the guide.
The quality of the food and wine inclusions is the second pillar. We're not talking about a counter meal or a packed lunch. Luxury tours include a two-course restaurant lunch at some of the hinterland's finest venues, and winemaker-led tastings at boutique producers who typically don't open their doors to tour buses. These are pre-arranged, exclusive arrangements — not generic cellar-door visits.
Six Things Every Luxury Tour Delivers
Max 8 Guests
The tightest cap in the market. 8 guests means everyone gets window seats, everyone can ask questions, and pace is set by the group — not a schedule.
Restaurant-Quality Lunch
Not a pub counter meal or a packed sandwich. 2-course lunch at a quality hinterland restaurant — Maleny or Montville's best, paired with local wines or craft beer.
Premium Vehicle
Leather seating, climate control, individual charging ports. Not a 20-year-old minivan. We're particular about vehicle quality because 8 hours in a bad seat is 8 hours in a bad seat.
Senior Guide
All luxury tours are led by our most experienced guides — typically the same guides who run private charter tours for corporate clients and VIP visitors.
Noosa Hotel Pickup
Door-to-door pickup from Noosa Heads hotels including Sofitel, Peppers, and all major Hastings Street properties. No taxi or Uber needed.
Private Wine & Tastings
Premium cellar door tastings at 2–3 venues included in the price — not add-ons. We don't partner with venues; we visit the ones we think are genuinely excellent.
Three Signature Luxury Tours
Each tour has its own character and focus — choose based on what draws you most to the Sunshine Coast.
Our flagship luxury tour. The morning starts with a private 4WD track to a Glass House Mountains viewpoint that doesn't appear on any public trail map — the first sign this isn't a standard itinerary. After an optional Mt Ngungun summit (a gentler walk is always available), we visit a boutique winery for a guided tasting with the winemaker — pre-arranged, exclusive access. Long lunch at one of the hinterland's best-regarded restaurants. Afternoon at Maleny Botanic Gardens and Mary Cairncross Reserve.
The key difference from our standard hinterland tour: the winemaker-led tasting (the winery is closed to general tour traffic), the long-table restaurant lunch (our standard tour uses a farmhouse lunch), and the smaller group of maximum 8 allowing for a pace that's genuinely relaxed.
An intimate version of the Noosa Everglades experience — maximum 8 kayakers, a dedicated guide, a private wilderness lunch location that larger groups can't access, and an afternoon finish on the Noosa River with a sunset drink at a riverside restaurant. The tea-tree reflections, the silence of the upper everglades and the extraordinary quality of light in the afternoon make this one of the Sunshine Coast's genuinely transcendent experiences.
This is the highest-priced tour we offer and also the one that produces the most glowing reviews. The upper everglades, with a skilled guide who knows how to read the tides, the light, and the silence, is an experience that genuinely can't be replicated at scale.
A food-focused luxury day built around the Noosa Hinterland's extraordinary produce culture. Morning at Eumundi Markets (Saturday or Wednesday — arrive early for the best stall selection). Private visit to a working Cooloola farm — olive grove, subtropical fruit orchard, or artisan cheese maker depending on season. Long-table lunch in a private rural setting using produce from that morning's market. Village afternoon in Kin Kin or Pomona. Returns via the Noosa Heads coastal drive.
"We've done luxury tours in Tuscany, Burgundy and the Barossa. The Cooee hinterland day was every bit as good — the winemaker knew our names by the second glass, the lunch was exceptional, and the guide took us somewhere so beautiful I genuinely stopped and just stood there. We talked about it for weeks afterwards."— Richard & Marion H., Brisbane · Premium Hinterland & Wine Tour

Luxury vs Standard Tour: What's Different
Frequently Asked Questions
Three things: the strict cap of 8 guests (not 12, not 20 — 8), the quality of the food and wine inclusions (restaurant lunch and winemaker tastings, not add-ons), and the exclusive-access stops that standard tours don't have. The vehicle is better; the pacing is more generous; the guide has more freedom to respond to what the group wants.
Yes, more so than on standard tours. All luxury tours have a core itinerary that we know works, but the exact pace, how long at each stop, and whether we add or swap elements can be adjusted based on the group's interests. Contact us before booking to discuss specific requests.
Most of our luxury itineraries can be modified for guests who prefer not to do the mountain walks. Gentler alternatives are available at each location — a lookout walk instead of the summit, for example. Please advise us when booking and we'll ensure the itinerary works for all guests in the group.
Yes — private charters for groups of 2–8 are available across all our luxury tour formats and can be entirely customised. These are particularly popular for milestone birthdays, anniversaries, corporate team days and incentive travel groups. Contact us for a private charter quote.
Luxury tours fill quickly, especially the Hinterland & Wine experience during June–September (the peak season for hinterland touring). We recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance for weekends and at least a week for weekday departures. Contact us directly to check availability rather than assuming dates are available.
Yes — given the small group size and pre-arranged restaurant bookings, we can almost always accommodate dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-specific needs. Please advise us at the time of booking. The restaurants we use are accustomed to catering for diverse dietary needs.
